I saw one of these

today on my walk. Just one. They have a very special meaning to me. They make me smile and let me know everything is OK. And today was an extra special day for so many reasons.

It's been five months today since he's been gone, but he left behind this beautiful song.

Things that make you go HMMMMMM

Why is my nephew showing me this large rodent?
Is it me, or do you also see the flying pterodactyls in the kitchen?

It really is sparkling apple cider, I promise!
What IS inside this turkey?

First it was the pterodactyls, now we have t-rexs on the coffee table, all this while attending a Thanksgiving dinner tonight!

Had a wonderful meal. Thank you so much Tom and Suzanne. I think you outdid yourselves this time! I can't even move.

A Day of Thanks

When I remember Thanksgiving as I child, I instantly HEAR the Macy's Parade, SEE my Mom getting the turkey ready and SMELL my Dad making his infamous sage stuffing.

Today, I am especially grateful for everyone and everything I have been blessed with in my life.
I am so thankful for my 3 beautiful, happy and healthy children. They have been my rocks.
I am thankful for my family, cause family is what it's all about.
I am thankful for my incredible friends, some that go back as far as elementary school and for renewed friendships :)
I am thankful for this new journey I am on, and the strength and wisdom I have found along the way.
Pause and embrace those around you, and cherish the little moments in this crazy, stressful, yet wonderful life we have been given.
And mostly, thank you for being a part of my life - I love you all.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Is this what you do when you turn 75? Dad and I recently went to Arizona, and this is what happens when I let him out of my sight. He is thrown out of a Pub and then arrested! NO NOT REALLY! He is just having fun with some great friends! These pics are staged....and Daddy, never stop having fun!!
Love to you on this Day and always!

Together Again

Today I got to reminisce with Vicki, my former sis-in-law. We haven't seen each other since 1984. Between the two of us, we could write a best-seller! I was married to her brother, Bob, about 105 years ago. We giggled, we consoled each other and we shared sweet tears. Life is good and family is even better.

Lions, Tigers, and Bears....oh my

I have many reasons for not talking about my work and last week I was glad I made that rule for myself, because, dude, I could have ranted and raved and gone on about it every day last week. It was tempting and it still is.

But anyway, work is what it is and it is only going to get more stressful in the next few weeks. Exactly, 18 more days to be exact. So, I don't exactly know how to stop my brain from leaking out of my ears, so please excuse me for the next few weeks if I sound insane. I have an Event I am working on and we are in the home stretch. Crunch time. But I love it! This is what I crave. Organized chaos! Heck, after working with lions, tigers, and bears, oh my....this is easy. I sure do miss those days of giraffes, orangutangs*, and elephants oh my. But that my friends, is what has prepared me for anything life can throw my way! Thanks, MJ.

Dear Mister Perfect

Sometime, some several years from now, you will be walking out of a jewelry store with diamonds for me.

Thank you, they're lovely.

Dating Wrap Up

Ok sports fans you asked for it, you got it - here it is, the dating wrap up from the last eighteen months. I will be kind, because, I know, each and everyone of you listed below read this blog!!! No first names will be used, and I will use lyrics from a song to sum it up. So in order of appearance we will begin with -

Mr. Wisconsin - Why? Was there anything I could have said or done? I had no clue you were masking a troubled soul. Only God knows what went wrong and why you left the stage in the middle of our song? No one stays 17 forever.

Mr. Arrogant - Oooooh, so you think you're something special , Ooooh, you think you're something else, Ooooh, so you are a rocket scientist, So, you're Brad Pitt, that don't impress me much. Dude, stop talking about yourself!

Next, we tried on-line dating, since off-line wasn't working. How I was matched with some of these guys.....I'll never understand. Like the guy standing in front of 3 deer heads mounted on a wall with paneling holding a shotgun. What part of my profile matched me with that? And then there were the stalkers...It did however match me with -

Mr. Attorney - (there is no song for you) After about 105 emails and phone calls exchanged, you set a date. Curiosty got the best of you and you wanted to know which celebrity I worked for....I answered you with pride, but you didn't like my answer. You broke the date. HOW SHALLOW CAN YOU BE? HOW DARE YOU JUDGE SOMEONE YOU'VE NOT MET. Michael was an incredible human being, and I was proud to have been in his employ. Your loss.

Then, there are those who are not even worthy of a mention on this blog.
During those dates, I realized I'd rather be home watching paint dry.

Then, there are the ones your well meaning friends set you up with. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING??

And then to round out the year,

Mr. Moto - He's so shy, that little boy that caught my eye, he's so shy...So aggressive on that track - yet kind, gentle and oh so shy off that motorcyle. Thank you for being such an all around good guy! (What is it with me and men with motorcycles....you'd think I'd learn)

I know they say you've got to kiss a lot of toads before you meet that Prince, so I'll just continue to pucker up.

The best is yet to come.

Nine Months

On this day, nine months ago, I said goodbye to my mom.

It's still so hard to believe, sometimes it feels like she is just away on another trip with my Dad and she's going call me and tell me all about it like she always did.

I wish you would Mom, I wish you could. We miss you so much.....so much has happened......but I know, that you already know about it and you and I will have a good cackle about this some day.

The Time Capsule

This weekend I got to go back in time......
35 years to be exact
It was if time had stood still.....and
I got to eat again at Matta's.
I cruised a changed Main Street.
I witnessed one incredible family.
I finally attended the Mormon church with Susie.
I got to hug a girlfriend again who I abandoned when she needed me the most.
I was told something I never knew.
I learned I broke someone's heart.
I shed tears and laughed out loud
and ate chicken pot pie.
and
I forgot to take pictures of it all.....

As time goes on, I realize

just what you mean to me
and now,
now that you're near
promise your love
that I've waited to share
and dreams of our moments together...
Color my World with hope
of loving you.
- Chicago
My all time, hands down, most favorite song in the Universe.
It was just time to bring it out and dust it off!
