On the Road Again

Mr. Moto and I are planning a vacation....a road trip.....maybe we'll be coming to a town near you.

On the road again, going places I've never been, just can't wait to get on the road again....seeing things I may never see again......

Not again...

Went back t0 my Dermatologist today for my follow up (now that I grew a new face back), and we didn't get it all. So I am now scheduled for Round 2 of the great face burn off. ARRRRRGH!

It's My Life

I love my life. Funny, how some people dread getting older, I find I am now in the best place ever.

What I am learning as I get older is more about ME. Yes ME, someone, who has had no identity for many decades. I learn more about the person I want to be, and the type of person I no longer wish to be. I am learning to finally filter out the negativity and draw in the positivity. All I ever knew was the role of a wife and a mother. And over these last several years, I finally got to meet ME! After some coaxing, she finally came out of her coccoon and blossomed, discovering an amazing world out there, just waiting for her. Filled with good things and good people. Such an inner sense of peace and calm swept over, almost a sense of weightlessness. I'm free. No more cowering, no more settling, no more allowing anyone to tell me I am less than I am. You have to love yourself first, before anyone else can love you. When you find yourself, you find happiness. And no one can ever take that away from you. Not no one, not no how. It's yours to keep. It's my life.....finally.

I'm just saying.....

So you think you can dance....

Put on your dancin' shoes and head down to the Solvang Theaterfest, where this week, my 11 year old niece, Morgan and Chelsea will be performing in the Centre Stage Dance Program. Chelsea will don a blonde wig, sequined dress, high heels and her best british accent and emcee the show as Cat Deeley from "So You Think You Can Dance". Shows begin this Thursday night and run thru Saturday night.

What a night!! Here's Chelsea singing "Orange Colored Sky" by Natalie Cole. About 52 of us ventured to Santa Barbara for the show. As it turns out the voting was done by the audience members only via text live that night. No voting by the 4 judges. We had less than a minute to text our votes. The performing arts center held 700 and it was almost full. So depending on how many people were there to support you basically determined the amount of votes you received, more fans, more votes. After the text votes, 5 contestants were eliminated and that left 7, then 6, then 5. When there were 5 left standing, Chelsea was eliminated. Only 4 remained, 2 girls and 2 guys from Santa Barbara. I am impressed our mighty 52 votes carried so much weight. Alison, the winner had over 140 voters and was an excellent vocalist. So, the moral of story is , we will take BUSLOADS of Team Chelsea over the hill and fill that theatre with votes!!! We had a great evening filled with suspense, signs and screams. Even little Morgan Watts was hoarse the next day!

Big Night Tonight

Tonight, Chelsea competes in the Santa Barbara Idol Singing Competition as one of the top ten finalists.

Keep toes and fingers crossed, should be an amazing evening.

Dear Mom,

I wish Heaven had a phone so I could hear your voice. I thought of you today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories and a picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake, from which I'll never part. God... has you in his arms, I have you in my heart! I miss you Mom.

Moment of the Week

Last Friday, Chelsea stopped by my office to change into her Cat Deeley costume for "So You think you can Dance". She had a photo shoot to do for the program. She emerges from the bathroom in stilletto heels, a blue sequined dress, full make up and a long to-the-waist blonde wig.

A few steps out of the bathroom, she proclaims (LOUDLY) "MOM, I look like friggin' Miss Piggy in this wig, no better yet ........ I look like a damn transvestite". Before, I can make the universal shhhhh signal, I turn to give her the "mom" stink eye because two of our clients are now standing five feet behind her. Chelsea takes 5 more steps forward, rips the wig off her head, exits and slams the office door. I turn to my clients, smile the "don't even ask look" and exit the building to chauffeur Miss Piggy to her shoot.

My Baby Girl

Exactly 17 years ago today, at this very moment, you were born. My third child, my second daughter, my miracle baby.

The joy you have brought to our family is immeasurable. The moments that you have etched on my heart, are ones only a mother and daughter could understand. You are wise beyond your years, Chelsea, an old soul, as your Nana would say.

With you, there are no boundries and the possibilities are endless. You are on your way!
