Meet my new Man!

I've found the perfect man!

He's flexible.
Doesn't talk back.
Cheap to keep!
Physically fit!
Doesn't smoke.
Loves to travel.
He only has eyes for me.
Great listener.
Ageless.
He loves chick flicks.

AND most importantly,
he doesn't ask me to pull his finger when he farts......because he doesn't FART!
He is such a doll!
Meet Troy!!!!!

Home at Last

On Thursday, May 14th, with her sisters and brother, nieces, children and husband gathered, Mom joined her parents and brothers in their final resting place at the quaint Newton Church cemetary in Porthcawl, Wales.

I can certainly understand, after visiting Wales, why my Mom wanted to return home. What a beautiful place. It was with such peace, that we were able to say our final good bye.

Quote of the Day at San Fran Airport

“Would you like loom for cream in that coffee?”

Arrival at Heathrow

After 10 hours in the plane, 3 movies and 2 screaming babies, I was very glad to be on land again! After landing at Heathrow and going thru Customs, we were ready to rent a car. Easier said than done, there was more luggage than there were passengers. The first car they gave us was a convertible! The second was a manual, and finally the third was a blue Audi Station wagon. Gina asked for a navigation system, a TomTom, as they referred to it. The kind woman at Enteprise even programmed it for us. So the journey begins, Gina driving and my Dad as the co-pilot, Well lets just say Gina barely survived the first “round about” and then took a wrong turn into a dead end, at which point the little voice on the nav system says in a proper English accent “At your convenience, please turn the car around”. My father demanded he now drive and Gina is fired as the driver. Mind you, we have been up over 24 hours and to say we were “punchy” would be putting it mildly. By this time, the 3 girls in the back had the giggles so bad, we were covering our mouths w/our pillows to muffle the hysteria, We had a 3 ½ hour drive ahead of us and couldn’t even find the M-4 (freeway). Driving on the M-4 in England makes Los Angele’s freeways look tame! First the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car and then you drive the car on the opposite side of the road, while sleep deprived. Joanne, Teri Ann and I were squished in the back seat. I drew the straw and got to sit on the “hump” in the middle. Sardines have more room in a can than we did. We soon became contortionists and I just closed my eyes and screamed internally. At least we would all leave this world together! The speed limit must be 1000 per hour. Nerves were frazzled, tempers were short, but we made it!! Thanks Dad, I don’t know how you did it!

And so it Began.....

Rise at 5:00 am Monday to catch Flight to San Francisco.

Upon arriving at Airport at check-in, we discover that one pair of the sister's shared suitcase weighs 56 pounds. The limit is 50 pounds. While the other smart pair of sisters, I won't say any names, but her their initials are TC & TW, their case only weighs 41 pounds. You see my Dad said one large suitcase split between 2 girls each so as to save space in the trunk of the rental car in England. So right there in the United Airlines Terminal for all to see, the heavier suitcase is flung open and the repacking begins! and then the reweighing! Thank Goodness no one I know was in that lobby while the 4 of us packed and repacked on our knees in the lobby under my Dad's watchful eye. Then there was the mix up with the boarding passes, Teri had 4, I had none.....and so the chaos began and we hadn't even left Santa Barbara yet.

Dear Mom,

You can only have one mother
Patient, kind and true;
No other friend in all the world,
Will be the same to you.
When others will forsake you,
To your mom you will return,
For all her loving kindness,
She asks nothing in return.
As we look upon her picture,
Sweet memories we recall,
Of a face so full of sunshine,
And a smile for one and all.

Dear God, take this message,
To our dear mum up above;
Tell her how we miss her,
And give her all our love.

Always,

Daddy, Tracy, Gina, Joanne and Teri Ann

Holding Down the Fort...

As many of you may know, my boss, Bruce was recently diagnosed with Cancer. He will begin his chemo tomorrow and the staff gave him a "chemo kit" with lots of goodies to help him thru. We also wanted to assure him that we can "hold down the fort" while he's out of the office. I'm enjoying my "Coronita" with Ellen Degeneres, Kathy is enjoying champagne and talking on her cell, Linda is blowing party horns while Cynthia is literally "holding down the fort".

Bruce's prognosis is excellent and we know he can beat it! We love you Bruce and know the office will be in "GOOD HANDS".

Spring Creepy Crawlers

I cannot stress enough how excited I am for Spring to arrive. These past few days of beach weather have been welcomed like a check from Publishers Clearing House. But, and regrettably there is a but. With Spring comes the multi legged friggin creepy crawlers that seriously disturb me to the core.

My phobia goes back as far as I can remember. My fear of grasshoppers and praying mantis.
It's really serious. Serious to the point that I have literally jumped and cleared a 3 foot hedge while being chased by my X (he claimed he had one cupped in his hand) and then jumped into my neighbor's open mini van to get away from him and the grasshopper. Now you know why he's the X. Don't EVER taunt me with a grasshopper. You will PAY!!! I have also leapt off a 5 foot tall retaining wall while holding gardening shears (and screaming like a banchi indian) to escape a flying grasshopper that got tangled in my hair, forget the fact that I could have impaled myself on these shears when I landed, but I had to get that friggin grasshopper off of me. I then ran in the house, ripped off all clothing, inspected myself in the mirror and then jumped in the shower to wash off its essence. Terrified I would find it in my hair while shampooing. I can still hear that buzzing sound.....

Yes, I realize that a phobia is indeed an irrational fear. However, I cannot get over it. And I have now officially been told by my sister, that the grasshoppers are back, they were spotted just this week in her yard (I won't be going over there real soon.)

It's time to strap on the exterminator suit and start spraying the hell out of everything that will stand still.

First Scrapbook Retreat at my house this weekend. Great time was had by all! Finally took the flamingos out of the front yard. I'm sure the neighbors are relived!

My dining room turned into a scrapbook table for 8.
