The Countdown Begins

David and I are finally going to meet again, after 30 years, on August 6th.

Between us, we have 2000 miles and seven children.

Brace Face

OK, If Cher can get braces at 50, so can I.

Today, Dr. Davirro put on the upper braces.

Now I have heard how much these things can hurt, so I went home and waited, and waited, and waited......nothing.

I called Dr. D's office and said..."are you sure these are tight enough, I don't feel anything". I am sure they thought I was certifiably insane at this point.

Only 18 months to go.....

That First Call

I am sure you can imagine that first phone call from him.
He lives in Wisconsin now.

He sounds the same, and I can barely breathe.

The Email

An email dated April 15th, 2007 arrives in my mailbox today June 15th. It has been stuck in the "spam" section of my sister's mailbox and she has forwarded it to me today.

It was sent via Classmates.com and reads like this:

Tracy, it has been a long time and I would like to hear from you. David.

Can you say 30 years and my high school sweetheart?

Like Mothers, like daughters

It's one thing when you meet someone and they become a life long friend, but when your daughters also share the same connection, that's magic.

I was told to "take it one day at a time", but why do I feel like so many days are thrown at me all at once?

Divorce is like an emotional rollercoaster.

Today I Started a New Job

I hope this company is patient as they have just hired a dishrag.

Here She Is!

Here's our new nest. My oldest daughter Carla has moved back home to live with Chelsea and I. Three bachlorettes under one roof. There is no testosterone in here, only hormones.
Life is good.

New Years Eve

Tonight I celebrate my first solo New Year's Eve with my sister, Teri and her family in my old neighborhood.

At midnight, my marriage counselor (who also lives in this neighborhood and is attending this party) and I make a toast "to my new beginning!"

Life is weird.

The Christmas Card

We have named it the
"cottage".

She has 4 bedrooms, hardwood floors
and my favorite....a front porch.

She should be ready in Feb 2007.

A New Beginning

Here I find myself at 49, recently divorced with 3 wonderful children beginning a new chapter in my life.

Today my son Kyle said to me, quite firmly I may add....

"Mom you need to do something for yourself, you are always doing things for everyone else and I am giving you 24 hours to come up with two things you will do just for you.

So guess what I did? I decided to get braces...
